§ 8-66. Creole Water System, Inc.
(a)
There is hereby granted to Creole Water System, Inc., a nonprofit corporation organized under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Louisiana, its successors and assigns, for a period of forty (40) years from adoption of this ordinance, the nonexclusive right and authority to establish, construct, operate and maintain water mains and lines, in connection with a waterworks system to be constructed, owned and operated by the said Creole Water System, Inc., and to furnish or supply water to the residents and business or businesses in the Community of Creole, situated in Sections 25, 26, 27, 28, 33, 34, 35 and 36, all in Township 14 South, Range 7 West, Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
(b)
The said Creole Water System, Inc., shall have the nonexclusive right to construct, maintain and repair water mains, service pipes and other equipment upon, along in and under the parish roads now existing or hereafter constructed within the area herein above described.
(c)
The said Creole Water System, Inc., is hereby authorized to carry on the waterworks business within said area, subject to the ordinances, rules and regulations of the Parish of Cameron, and the Louisiana Public Service Commission.
(d)
The said Creole Water System, Inc., its successors and assigns, shall replace all streets, alleys, avenues and thoroughfares under or on which any work shall be done, under the provisions of this ordinance, in as good order and condition as the same were before the doing of such work, and all such work shall be done under the supervision of and as directed by the parish engineer or the juror of Ward 3. A permit shall be obtained from the police juror of Ward 3, prior to the commencement of any work on parish roads.
(e)
The right to create waterworks districts and/or fire districts within the area covered, hereby is specifically reserved.
