§ 7-35. Inspection required to determine compliance with development permit.

  • (a)

    The applicant must contact the Cameron Parish Police Jury when the forms for the foundation are complete or structure is moved on the site within thirty (30) days of the issuance of the development permit. The inspector will determine if the structure is in accordance with the base flood elevation requirements.

    (b)

    If the applicant fails to comply with the development permit application and base flood elevation requirements, the floodplain administrator will send a certified letter to the applicant informing the applicant of the violation. If the applicant fails to comply with requirements, within thirty (30) days of receipt of the certified letter, said violation shall constitute a misdemeanor.

    (c)

    Any person who violates this chapter or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall upon conviction thereof be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned for not more than six (6) months, or both, for each violation and, in addition, shall pay all costs and expenses involved in prosecution of such case.
