§ 5-7. Fallout shelter feature in new public buildings—Duty of officers, departments, etc.
Every officer, department, board or commission of the parish, charged with the duty of preparing plans and specifications, or awarding or entering into contracts for the design, erection or construction of buildings, or other structures, including additions to existing structures, for the parish, shall incorporate or cause to be incorporated in such buildings, or other structures, fallout protection for at least their normal anticipated population which shall meet or exceed the minimum space and fallout protection criteria recommended by the Office of Civil Defense, United States Department of Defense, unless exempted from such shelter requirements in accordance with section 5-8 of this chapter.
