Article III. BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION |
§ 2-34. Created; powers; membership; terms.
(a)
The Cameron Parish Bicentennial Commission is hereby created.
(b)
Said commission shall have all powers necessary and incidental to develop, screen and set priorities for projects that will be submitted for federal funding under the national bicentennial commission guidelines originating or pertaining to the parish.
(c)
The membership of said commission shall be composed of representatives of the following agencies appointed by the police jury: Elected officials, youth organizations, minority groups, clergy, teachers and educators, historical patriotic organizations, service clubs, the media, womens clubs and groups, veterans groups, cultural groups and athletic groups.
(d)
Additions to the commission membership shall serve at the pleasure of the police jury, and otherwise, for a term of office for a period of one (1) year from the date of their appointment.
