§ 2-19. Vacation pay.

  • (a)

    Full-time employees shall be entitled to a paid vacation of one (1) week when they have had one year of continuous service with the parish.

    (b)

    Full-time employees having between two (2) years and five (5) years of continuous service shall be entitled to a paid vacation of two (2) weeks each year.

    (c)

    Full-time employees having between five (5) years and ten (10) years of continuous service shall be entitled to three (3) weeks paid vacation each year.

    (d)

    Full-time employees having between ten (10) years to twenty (20) years of continuous service shall be entitled to four (4) weeks paid vacation each year.

    (e)

    Full-time employees having between twenty (20) years and over shall be entitled to five (5) weeks paid vacation each year.

    (f)

    Vacation pay is provided to employees as a mere gratuity and is not considered wages. Effective January 1, 2011, no employee may accumulate annual leave in whole or in part. Annual leave not used during the calendar year in which it is granted is lost.
