§ 20-413. Governing body.

The district shall be governed by a board of commissioners composed of five (5) qualified voters of the district, appointed by the police jury, who shall serve without pay or per diem. Two of the initial commissioners shall serve for terms of two (2) years, two (2) shall serve for terms of four (4) years, and one (1) shall serve for a term of six (6) years. Thereafter, commissioners shall serve for terms of six (6) years. Any commissioner may be removed from office because his appointment is rescinded by a two-thirds vote of the elected membership of the police jury, all as provided for by R.S. 33:9055.
